Hey my loves,
I’ve been reflecting deeply and felt called to share a few observations from where I stand now.
Lately, I’ve been tuning into the collective frequency and noticing a recurring pattern: a subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle disdain for darkness. As a whole, we’ve allowed fear to shape our perception of what darkness is, leading many to avoid, suppress, or demonize anything that even resembles it.
But I want to offer a reframe. There is a sacred darkness. A holy, generative space. In truth, light was born from darkness. The darkness I speak of is not to be feared. It is the womb of creation, the fertile void, the silence that holds potential.
What we’ve been taught to fear is not this sacred darkness. It is a false darkness, a distortion designed to keep us fragmented, afraid, and disconnected from our wholeness. This illusion is one of the greatest tools keeping separation intact.
So I want to offer a distinction. May it support your ability to hold both light and dark in divine balance as you walk your path of ascension with more clarity.
Sacred Darkness
• The Void – Stillness. Spaciousness. The beginning and the end. Where nothingness becomes the source of all things.
• Grief – The mourning of what once was. A hollow ache that reminds us we have loved.
• Sacred Rage – A holy fire. Born of anger, forged in injustice and ancient knowing. Rage that illuminates, protects, and transforms. A signal of boundaries crossed and truth denied.
• Rest and Death Cycles – Times of retreat, surrender, or endings that are necessary for rebirth and regeneration.
• Shadow Integration – Meeting the parts of ourselves we’ve hidden or rejected and welcoming them home with love.
False Darkness
• Shame – A distortion that convinces you your essence is wrong. It silences the soul.
• Manipulation and Control – Energies that mimic power but feed on fear, coercion, and suppression.
• Spiritual Bypass Disguised as Shadow Work – Facing shadows with ego instead of soul. Using “darkness” to justify harm or superiority.
• Addiction to Chaos or Pain – Mistaking suffering for depth, and turmoil for initiation.
True darkness is an initiation, not a punishment. It is a teacher, not a tormentor.
Discernment is key. May you feel the difference in your body, in your spirit. May you reclaim the sacred dark, your own inner temple of becoming, and remember that you were always meant to hold both the sun and the moon within you.
With you in all realms,
Ramona Powers 🖤
