This is NOT a weight loss plan (though I wouldn’t mind losing some) this is NOT a business pitch (though full disclosure I may mention products that I sell) this is about me improving my lifestyle

Back to reading every morning (at least trying)

“She keeps running toward an agenda He never set, one that will never satisfy.”

Embraced by Lysa Terkeurst is a 100 day devotional that I have read in the past. I Started it over this month. The first time I read it I highlighted things that spoke to my heart. It’s funny how some still do, but also how some things that didn’t touch me the first time can really hit home now.

This quote was one I highlighted the first time and it’s still something I think I need to work on. Praying that I am lead to His plan more often then steering myself into what I THINK is the only way to survive.

I have been paying more attention to how foods make me feel. Gut friendly meals don’t make me sleepy, are mostly all Whole Foods, and fill me up quickly. This is my new favorite soup. I kind of make it up and today I even added Swiss chard! But it’s delicious

“GOD gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self control.” (From 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV)

Todays reading was discussing paralyzing fear. The author referenced her experiences playing on the monkey bars as a child and how she could never get past the first bar.

“Staying stuck in your fear is way worse than any other choice you could make right now. If you let go of that bar and happen to catch the next one, you will move forward and prove to yourself that you can do this. If you let go of that bar and fall, you’ll see that the ground isn’t so far away. It won’t feel that great to fall, but it won’t be worse than all the stress and exhaustion you’re experiencing just hanging there on the first bar.”

Where is faith if you are stuck on the first bar? The answer is that you are not trusting in God. You are telling yourself that it is all on you. Trust.

-My reading today really hit home. There has been a lot on my heart recently.

“Take the next step. Not ten steps. Not the whole path.”

“Complete that step with excellence and an open, humble heart.”

-My mind can get the best of me in many cases. However, my instincts rarely take me to a poor outcome. My focus is to have a open and humble heart at this time.

“Where our strength ends is the exact point where His will begins. THIS IS GODS PART OF THE EQUATION.”

-I ask that I see His will.

“I must do all I can do. Then trust God will do what only he can do.”

“It is very early in the morning. Though my body begs me to go back to sleep, my soul stirs to get up and talk with Jesus.”

Fitting for my morning read today. And when I was done, I took a moment to appreciate the color coordination between my book, nails, and mug ❤️

Not food related. But most certainly still homemade health related.

Today I am spending some time with Jesus. I’m reading a book that I have held close for the last year or so. Rereading a section today, this idea really stood out to me.

“How it must break His heart when we work like we don’t believe He is capable. We say we trust Him but act like everything depends on us.”
- Embraced by Lysa Terkeurst

I see this lived out through many aspects in my life. My goal is to take breaks and remember my trust in Him and his plan. It is not up to me.
