Satsampatti is a concept in Hindu philosophy that refers to the sixfold virtues or qualities considered essential for a spiritual aspirant to possess in their quest for self-realization or liberation. These six virtues are:
1. Sama (mental calmness): The ability to maintain a balanced and calm mind under all circumstances.
2. Dama (self-restraint): The control over one's senses and desires, leading to a disciplined life.
3. Uparati (introspection): The ability to withdraw from worldly pursuits and focus on spiritual practices.
4. Titiksha (endurance): The capacity to tolerate and endure difficulties and suffering without losing patience.
5. Shraddha (faith): Unwavering belief in the teachings of the scriptures and the guidance of the guru.
6. Samadhana (concentration): The ability to single-pointedly focus the mind on spiritual practices and goals.
These six virtues are considered necessary for spiritual growth and progress on the path to self-realization.
