The solar plexus chakra
is located right near the stomach, and is symbolized by the colour yellow. The solar plexus chakra governs confidence and motivation, and imbalances in the solar plexus chakra can show up as upset stomach or gastrointestinal issues. Solar plexus chakra imbalances in patients often look like individuals with extremely low self esteem, or in a less extreme case could be someone that second guesses themselves frequently.

The shadow side of the solar plexus chakra is shame, which is an emotion that is often so deeply internalized that often we don’t know that we are acting from a place of shame. Shame is especially present for those of us that are significantly ‘othered’, by means of race, gender, ability or otherwise. Overcoming shame, especially internalized shame is crucial to bringing the solar plexus chakra into balance. If you think you might be struggling with self worth and shame issues, I have found it really helpful to spend time thinking and journaling about times when I have felt like I didn’t belong and exploring why I felt that way, who benefited from those feelings, and trying to find ways to comfort that wounded inner child. ✨🤍✨

The second chakra is located right around the belly button- which is an area that is also very important in terms of Chinese Medicine, and is an area where many Meridians gather.

The sacral chakra governs your emotional well being, as well as creativity, sexuality and our ability to express ourselves. When the sacral chakra is stuck I tend to see patients get stuck in loops of feeling upset, but not really knowing why, and not being able to connect with the core of themselves.

Alternatively, when the sacral chakra is over active patients might feel like they are utterly overwhelmed by their emotions.

If you feel like your sacral chakra is over active or stuck, engaging in a creative act, without allowing your critical mind to take over, can be a good way to regulate the chakra. ✨🌿 🧡

The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine, and it represents stability and survival.

It is where we store trauma around childhood, family, and cultural beliefs. People that struggle with trust in relationships often have imbalances in their root chakra. Oftentimes the emotion of fear can be a signal from our bodies to check in with our root chakra, and can be a good reminder to spend time focusing on the things in our lives that make us feel safe and supported.

From a TCM point of view, red is connected with the heart and the mind, as well as sleep and blood. Red colour on the face or other body parts is often a sign that there might be too much heat in the body. ❤️✨📖

Welcome to Seven Wheels Wellness! My name is Juniper and I am a soon-to-be licensed Doctor of Acupuncture, working on Treaty 7 territory, in Calgary,Alberta. I am so happy you are here!

I am super excited to share some of my knowledge through this page! I graduated from the Calgary College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture this August after three years of hard work and dedication to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Acupuncture and wrote my licensing exam just last month!

My passions in this medicine lie in treating chronic illness, mental health, and working with patients that haven’t found acceptable solutions within the realm of ‘Western’ medicine. I am also a practitioner of Reiki, and that’s where the inspiration for the name of this page comes from.

The human body has seven chakras, and each chakra is like a wheel of energy, aligned along the center of the body. When these wheels spin ‘too fast’ or ‘too slow’ due to emotions, illness, or external factors, they need to be brought back into balance.

My main tools for doing this are acupuncture needles, tuning forks (aka needless acupuncture), and glass cupping. I am constantly learning more techniques to help guide the body into wellness.
