*VAGINAL INFECTION*
• Väginal Infection (VI) is simply any infection that affects the vägina, if not well managed can lead to infertility.
• Väginal infection can be caused by the overgrowth of atypical bacteria or fungi, which can lead to Bacterial vaginosis or Candidiasis (Va.ginal Yeast Infection) respectively.
• Common symptoms of väginal infection includes;
- Itching
- Väginal discharge
- Väginal odour (fishy)
- Lower abdominal pain.
- Irregular or absence of ovulation.
- Abnormal colour of menstrual flow.
• Recurrent va.ginal infection occurs when you keep having a repeated episode of the infection, at least 5times in a year.
• When va.ginal infection is not well treated it can progress into the uterus infecting the lining and other connecting organs e.g o***y and the fallopian tubes, which can hinder fertilization.
