Up until about a year ago, I didn’t know I had a “mental wellness” problem.
I thought my life was normal…
In fact, life was pretty good!
My daughter was about one at the time, work life was going ok, and my husband and I found ourselves in a comfortable new routine between work schedules, daycare, and life.
Yet, I always “felt” stress with tense muscles and recognized my pre-hypertension as my new normal long before I got pregnant, fighting to keep myself off blood pressure medication.
Aside from the 4th trimester hormonal roller coaster, I never struggled with anxiety attacks or deep depression, but my tense feelings and general unhappiness was enough to make me think twice about how to react and accept this new “normal”.
This is something that I’ve never felt before, and while society told me it was “normal” I knew there was a better way.
Without succumbbing to pharmaceuticals or medical intervention, I went researching…
I started learning about how the connection between your gut and brain can significantly impact your stress resiliency and immune system.
Since I’ve started invested in my gut health, I can safely say that those “weird feelings” of unhappiness and physical tension have since disappeared.
My pre-hypertension blood pressure condition is gone, AND
I feel more vibrant in my everyday life - so much so that even the normal “stress” doesn’t phase me anymore!
Added bonus >> I’m actually excited to work out and have done so more in the last year than I did within the first year my daughter was born!
Not to mention losing extra weight that was just “hanging around!” 😂
The life I’m living now is the life I knew I was meant to live, now I get to enjoy it that much more!
Can you relate?
