With so many eardrops to choose on the shelves, it's important to understand their differences 👂🏽💧⬇️
• OIL BASED DROPS - Olive oil and almond oil drops/sprays are effective gentle softening drops for wax. They lubricate the earcanal making for easy, successful earwax removal treatment. We usually recommend you use these for a few days before your scheduled treatment. 🫒
• HYDROGEN PEROXIDE - These can sometimes create a 'fizzing' in the ear whilst they break down hard wax. These can easily cause irritation to the ear canal and we don't recommend these - especially without having your ears examined first! 💥
• SODIUM BICARBONATE - These drops can be great at softening solid wax in preparation for treatment or even self removal. We recommend you have your ears checked before administering these. 💧
⚠️Anyone with history of severe ear infections, previous ear surgeries, perforations, severe vertigo etc. should always consult a medical professional prior to adminstering drops into the ear.
If you have any queries regarding the best drops to use in your ears, get in touch and we'd be happy to discuss.
❌ Drops can be a good first step at managing earwax at home but may not necessarily remove an earwax build up or relieve symptoms without professional treatment.
