Cass Update:
Bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and D&C done & dusted 💙
In normal terms they ripped my ovaries & tubes out 😆

Surgery all went well except for a few minor post op anaesthetic hiccups of really low heart rate & low blood pressure so some extra oxygen, nausea meds & extra pain relief helped.

A massive thank you to my family & friends who have offered support meals & healing vibes ❤️‍🩹

Now let the early menopause hit 🥴🥵

Take this as a reminder to check your breasts, pecs & underarms! If you are unsure what you are looking for; anything that feels off, lumps, bumps etc.

And remember, it’s never too young to start checking yourself. Start encouraging your teens to get into the habit!

Happy Mothers Day 💖💖💖

Happy Heavenly Mothers Day to our angels in the sky 💖

And our thoughts are with the people who’s mothers have grown their angel wings.
Thoughts are especially with Nat, Ash and Liam today as today was their first Mothers Day without their Mum 💖

We took a huge PINK crew to with some fundraising tins from to raise money to find a cure.

Here is your reminder to check your breasts, armpits, neck, collar bone & pecs.

We have been really quiet on the page of late & here is why;

Ash, Nat and Liam’s beautiful Mum, Linda had reoccurrence of her hormone positive after being in the clear for almost 13 years.

Aunty Linda bravely went back to the GP several times throughout 2021 as she didn’t feel right. She had pain and knew it was serious.
Unfortunately this was overlooked by a few doctors as they were so caught up in the Covid craze. She was finally re diagnosed October 2021 with metastatic breast cancer.

Sadly, tragically (and too many other words to mention) Linda passed away surrounded by family, friends and an abundance of love on 13th April 2022. She was only 62 years old.

Please take this loss as a reminder to check your breasts. Know your body. Advocate for yourself and your loved ones. You matter.

We had our Christmas Party yesterday 🎄🎁

This year more people present were BRCA2 positive than not 🥴
So much for the 50/50 strike rate 🙄🤪

But amongst this group we have 2 warriors and a huge bunch of previvors 💪🏻
Try find a tougher family 💪🏻🙌🏻👌🏻🥰😍

1st of November means it’s time to cop a feel.

We have been quiet on the page lately. Lots of heavy emotions within our brca2 family.

Our advice for now: know your body, check yourself, advocate for yourself, doctors don’t know everything, trust your gut.

Live everyday as if it were your last and love hard 🙏🏻♥️

When the Plastics Outpatients randomly book appointments at the same time same day …. what are the odds we didn’t even plan it 🤯🥰

Jodies here to check the healing of her reconstruction - can you believe it’s been a year since her major surgery!
And Cass is here for a 6 weekly check up after her prophylactic surgery 🍈🍈

My pathology results are in 🤭
Absolutely no trace of cancer cells detected in the breast or ni**le tissue 🙌🏼

I know I’m one of the lucky ones 💕
Sometimes I don’t know whether to feel relief or guilty that I had a choice! A choice that I know some of the would give their right arm for if they could turn back time ✨

A huge thanks to the absolute wonderful breast surgeon & amazing plastic surgeon, their teams & the nurses that took care of me - I will be forever grateful 🙏🏼

✨ Support People ✨

Can we just take a minute to appreciate our husbands / wife’s / partners / support people in a persons world! 🙌🏼

Whether it be dealing with the anxiety or unknown of the initial diagnosis, stress of scans & results to the after care of any surgery’s… they are there, present, helping & loving you along the way!

mainly has covered the stories of us 5 women …. However behind the scenes it’s a team of partners, kids, fur babies, family & friends that gets us through 🌼

Shout out to this man … who’s made me laugh, kept the kids alive, dealt with me whinging about how the bed is made (don’t ask 😬😆), pulled my un**es up & even blow dried my b**bs after the surgeon told him to get the dryer out after I get them wet (secretly the highlight of his day 😜) - that is love ❤️
