If you haven't heard, Roger received a kidney transplant on Saturday. We are so thankful for God's blessings, the donor and his family, the doctor's and staff at the hospital and for all who have prayed and continue to pray for his healing and recovery.

Please consider donating a kidney. We are both so tired of dialysis. Here's another reason why.

Roger and I spent ALL day Tuesday cleaning up a leak from the dialysis machine. It was my fault. I thought I tightened the line enough but obviously I didn't do so. We had to take down our antiqued heavy king size bed, (the mattress got wet) move everything including the dialsysis machine around to get to all the water.

I was so sore yesterday, I couldn't move without severe pain. Today, I'm still sore and hurting but trying to finish up.

Please be in prayer for Roger. He has been up all night sick. It's been a while since he's had an episode from gastroparesis but that's what happens.

For Roger Polk, this salad is something he can't enjoy anymore. Due to years of kidney failure, he has gastroparesis and can no longer eat raw vegetables.

This is the type of kidney disease Roger had that caused his kidneys to fail.

When the kidneys' filters (glomeruli) become inflamed and scarred it is called glomerulonephritis. The kidneys slowly lose their ability to remove wastes and excess fluid from the blood to make urine.
