On Saturday I was delighted to take part in the very first retreat day organised by .retreats

Summer. The season of glorious outward, upward, expansive energy. The time to step into our full potential. To bloom. To shine. To embrace all that we are and all that we have with joy!

Join me for a day retreat to Celebrate Summer

Sunday 22nd June, 10.30am-3.30pm.

This day retreat is fully inclusive and I welcome all ages, body types and abilities with open arms.

Chair support is gladly provided on request.

There will be welcome refreshments; a sharing lunch where everyone brings a dish and we create community, and tea and cake at the end of the day.

Dipping my toe back into a part of me that I let go of some time ago…

Something you may not know about me is that in a previous life I wrote - a lot - about gardens, plants and general horticulture for national magazines, newspapers, and I even wrote a book on the wild flowers of Britain and Ireland.

For one reason or another though I stopped, lost my confidence - and, in the process, a big part of myself.

For a while now I’ve wanted to write again on subjects that are core to my current life: Yoga and Ayurveda.

So here it is: my first piece on Ayurveda in a fabulous new online magazine called All Things Yoga, published by Vicky Richings of who just happened to be one of the most inspiring tutors on my 200hr training.

So thank you Vicky for the opportunity. I’m looking forward to writing the rest of this series, and I’m grateful for the chance to start this writing lark all over again!

Using yoga props is not failure.

It is success!

Each of these yoga props are your friend depending on your needs - or wants.

And each of these means that yoga can become available to every body.

They provide support.
They allow accessibility.
They let yoga be inclusive.
They create comfort.

Using props is never a failure.

Instead using props is awareness.

Awareness that there is something you need or want so that there is possibility, comfort and ease in your practice.

And awareness of body, breath and mind is core to the practice of yoga.

So instead of failure, using props is success.

Come and try it for yourself at ‘Kind’, my fully inclusive and accessible yoga class on Wednesday mornings, 9.45-10.45am.

Mid winter is quiet, slow, still.

We are nature so, as the landscape, plants, animals and birds, gift yourself the precious peace that comes at this time of the year.

Nurture plans for the coming year but stay quiet, breathe slowly, move gently, be inward.
