Bees are in 🐝🐝🐝

Sadly, our bees didn’t make it through the winter this year so we had to buy newbies. I picked them up yesterday and Steve and Jonah installed them last night.

Q: How do you transport 30,000 bees?

A: Very carefully πŸ˜‰πŸ€£

Did you know that raw, unfiltered honey has pretty much an eternal shelf life if stored in moderate temperatures (55-80 degrees)?

Pretty amazing πŸ’«πŸ.

This kid is also pretty amazing! Jonah took care of his own hive yesterday.

All by himself πŸ€πŸ’›

A little bit of background about us!

The Kish Family are an active bunch of beekeepers and have five hives. A little background on our family: my husband, Steve, and I started beekeeping in 2014. We started with one hive and learned the process through a family-owned farm, Turtlebee Farms. Our three kids have all been involved and a few years ago we were able to have three hives, one for each of them.

Our honey is not processed. Simply taken from the hive and strained. It's raw, delicious and all natural.

**Because it's raw honey, you may find that it crystalizes. Honey does not go bad. That just means it's the freshest, purest form of honey. Honey is made up of glucose and fructose and crystalizes at varying rates. Here's information on this process and how to liquefy your honey if crystallization occurs:

Pure raw honey crystallizes, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone bad. You can still eat crystallized honey, but here’s how to soften it without losing quality or flavor.
