Thanks to You For Giving Foundation is a non-profit foundation, with the assistance from the LLS New Jersey Chapter, that reaches out to the local communities via fundraising events to help cancer patients. The charitable donations funds are grants giving to those who would qualify for financial aid assistance.
The Big C. With today's medical miracles, cancer can be manged; but not all. There are so many decisions to make; not just about your health but about every day living. There are hundreds, if not thousands of organizations that are there to help you cope. Then there are the mundane every day issues that life will not let you forget, even when facing cancer. You wonder, who will pick up the children from school? Clean? Take you to and from the doctors or your treatments? Then your car payment is due, the mortgage, etc. First hand, Barbara Stroup learned about all this stress. On a day that started just like any ordinary day, she was told she had Lymphoma. Luckily she had a powerful net work of family and friends who swept her off her feet and did the things that needed to be done. When Barbara heard from her doctor mouth to her ears..."Your cancer is in remission", she wanted to repay the people who helped her through the most difficult time of her life. Her thoughts were, why not a Thank You Dinner. Hence the Thanks To You For Giving was born. The proceeds from this special dinner and other subsequent fund raisers throughout the year, are donated to the LLS, Lymphoma & Leukemia Society, as a designation to their grant program. This grant is given to cancer patients as financial aide. Our logo, Butterflies and Flowers, have a profound significance. Flowers represent those who have suffered with cancer and won. They are reborn, emerging from the ground up to once again bloom. The Butterflies represent those who are now not among us; but have flown free of the pain and this horrible disease. Butterflies are free; Flowers are survivors. F* Cancer, is a powerful salute, has a dual meaning. F* Cancer stands for FIGHT CANCER! Help, volunteer or donate to work towards our goal of eliminating this disease. F* Cancer, a survivor's salute, for a selected few, those who know the pain and suffering of this disease and its treatments, it means F**k Cancer-It wont beat me!
