Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas! And I mean ALL of them 💐 It’s hard to include everyone on that tiny picture but to the single mamas, to the future mamas who are currently struggling, to the ones who don’t speak to their children, to the ones missing their own… 💖 I’m thinking about all of you too 💖

Mamas, let’s talk ✨ Postpartum ✨

As you join this parents club (for the first time or not), postpartum also called the ‘fourth trimester’ is filled with joy having your new baby in your arms but it can be overwhelming, stressful and scary. It is considered to be six weeks but can last (muuuch) longer! Here are my 5 tips to navigate through this journey:

💤~ Rest as much as possible ~ easier said than done, I get it mama! 😅 but you do have to rest to be able to care for your newborn baby.

💦 ~ Stay hydrated ~ regardless if you’re breastfeeding or not. Postpartum bowel movements hit differently 😬 not trying to scare anyone, but hey, can you tell I’m speaking from experience? 🙃

🥗 ~ Eat a healthy diet ~ I can already hear y’all ask “who has time to cook while caring for a newborn + taking care of yourself + household + this + that?!” It’s so important to try at least, to help your body heal! While it’s not an easy task, this is why I always advise to meal prep during pregnancy and put in the freezer. It will save you lot of time and energy mama!

❤️‍🩹 ~ Take care of your mental health ~ having a baby is wonderful, it can also take a toll on your mental health. Don’t hesitate to reach out to your midwife, doula, OB or therapist for advice which will take me to my 5th tip…

🫂 ~ … Don’t be afraid to ask for help! Either if you have family, friends, neighbors… it does take a village to raise a child! If you can, this is why having a postpartum doula (wink wink 😉 it’s me, hi!) is so helpful. You don’t need to do this alone mama, I’m here for you 💖

⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️

There is none. I will openly talk about pregnancy loss/miscarriage. While I completely understand it can make pregnant mamas anxious to read about this topic, it is important to not silence the ones who are experiencing it. As a certified bereavement doula who has been going through recurrent pregnancy loss, I feel it is part of my mission and purpose to talk about it while being there for the ones who need it 🫶🏼

Thinking of my mamas who have babies in their hearts 🫶🏼 today is Bereaved Mother’s Day and as a fellow loss mama who has been experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss, I think of my angel babies (everyday), all of you loss mamas and your sweet babies as well. Say their names if you would like to 💖

Hi mamas 👋🏼 welcome to my page, Mama At Your Cervix 💖

Just wanted to quickly tell you about myself:
✨Mama ~ mama to angel babies and to my amazing daughter, who is my rainbow. She’s 1 and the love of our life!
✨Childbirth Educator in training ~ currently studying for my certification, couldn’t be more excited!!
✨Doula ~ I’m a postpartum doula + bereavement doula serving the North Dallas mamas. I’m scheduled to get birth doula certified as well in less than two months! I attended many births as a former nursing assistant in L&D and it just confirmed I wanted to be a birth worker.
✨Pre Nursing Student ~ studying my pre requisites and hoping to be accepted into a nursing program, my ultimate goal is to be a CNM and open my own birth center.
✨Pregnancy loss ~ I used to work as a nursing assistant at a hospital on the Ante/L&D/PP floor! It was absolutely a dream, and love all the great experiences until I lost our first baby with my husband. My biggest passion for pregnancy/childbirth/women’s health in general became my worst nightmare. I was happy for my patients but so sad for myself, I couldn’t handle it. It eventually became my strength. Also, it’s been months I’ve been working on my own non-profit! The goal is to provide support to mamas who experience the loss of their baby at any gestation. This project is close to my heart for obvious reasons and almost ready 🤞🏼

My goal is to help all mamas, the new ones, the seasoned ones, the ones who experienced loss, the ones who didn’t, by providing compassionate care and support 🫶🏼 As a mama myself, I am dedicated to be the best doula you could ask for 💖

If you made it until here, thank you for reading my post ☺️ and welcome again to my page, I’m happy you are here!
