The facial nerve is the seventh cranial nerve, or simply CN VII.

The facial nerve has five main branches, although the anatomy can vary somewhat between individuals.
The branches are, from top to bottom:
1. frontal (or temporal)
2. zygomatic
3. buccal
4. marginal mandibular
5. cervical.

Each of these branches provides input to a group of muscles of facial expression.

The most serious complications arising from the use of fillers are associated with the vascular system...

Inadvertently injecting an artery with filler can lead to a blockage (vascular occlusion) and compromise the blood supply (ischaemia) of tissues such as skin with cell death (necrosis) and permanent scarring.
