If you’re finding your inhalers difficult to use or feel they’re not working as well as they should, book an inhaler review with our Clinical Pharmacist, Andrea. He can help optimise your treatment and technique.

Asthma is one of the leading causes of emergency hospital admissions in children, and many flare-ups are preventable.

It's important to make sure your child is using their inhalers correctly:

✅ They should be using their preventer inhaler every day, even when well
❌ If asthma is well controlled, they SHOULDN’T need their blue reliever inhaler more than 3 times a week
🩺 If they do, contact your GP or asthma nurse to book an asthma review

We’re improving how we manage patient requests to make sure everyone gets the right care, at the right time.

💬 How it works:
1️⃣ When you contact the surgery, our Reception Team will guide you to complete a quick AccuRx online form (or help you complete it if needed).
2️⃣ A GP reviews every form and decides the best next step — whether that’s same-day care, a routine appointment, a prescription, or self-care advice.
3️⃣ Our pharmacy, nursing and clinical teams work together to handle follow-ups, blood results, and annual reviews efficiently.

💡 Why we changed:
• Using digital triage helps reduce missed appointments and waiting times.
• Our aim is to make your care safer, faster, and more consistent.

✅ Please always start with an AccuRx form when you need us — it helps us help you quicker!

Friends of the Croft ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our first patient participation group (PPG) meeting at the new Surgery.

It was wonderful to see so many of you and we enjoyed giving you a tour of our new surgery and sharing ideas together.

We appreciated your questions and feedback. We discussed parking, signage and settling into our new building.

It was a great hour of conversation and connection.

We’re looking forward to our first formal meeting in January as we continue building friends of the Croft together.

At The Croft Practice, we’re passionate about helping our patients stay healthy - not just treating illness when it happens.

Preventative care and screening are key parts of this. Regular health checks can help us detect problems early, when they’re often easier to treat.

✔️ NHS Health Checks – available for patients aged 40–74 without existing conditions
✔️ Cervical Screening – for women and people with a cervix aged 25–64
✔️ Breast Screening – every 3 years for women aged 50–71
✔️ Bowel Screening – sent automatically to those aged 60–74
✔️ Blood Pressure & Diabetes Monitoring – available at the surgery or local pharmacy
