Just wrapping up a 2 day Mental Health First Aid training for the Mobile Health Team who do great outreach work across the borough.

The Camden Mobile Health bus offers free preventative diabetes risk checks, health information and advice to support residents to make positive health and wellbeing choices, and to prevent people aged 30 and over from developing serious health conditions in the future.

A one day online course for anyone who lives with, works with, or supports a young person aged 8-18.

Giving you
🔸️An understanding of common mental health issues and how they affect young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and psychosis
🔸️The ability to spot the signs of mental ill health in young people and guide them to a place of support
🔸️Knowledge and confidence to have conversations around mental health and support positive wellbeing
🔸️A course workbook with handy lesson plans for educators and youth workers

Children and young people benefit from support that helps them understand themselves and their wellbeing.

Our Wellbeing Action Plans are practical, personalised tools that help children and young people identify what they find difficult, what helps, and when to seek support.

We offer:
• A version for children (Key Stage 2, and some Key Stage 3)
• A version for young people (sixth form and college, and for targeted use in KS4)

Used to guide safe, supportive conversations, they help identify strengths and support consistent care between home, education and other services.

Another excellent cohort of MHFAIDERS trained at the truly wonderful community centre in Islington.
Learners from mental health social work teams, young people gangs and violence, children and young people wellbeing workers, student social workers. Also learners from who are an excellent theatre charity helping care leavers and vulnerable young people and from a charity that runs services for women and girls who have been subjected to sexual and domestic violence and abuse, including prostitution. Great start to the New Year with a 2 day in person training for the dedicated and knowledgeable staff .camden

PACE are a grassroots play charity based in the London Borough of Camden. Originally founded in 2011 by a group of parents and play experts to provide high-quality, inclusive play and childcare services in the area.

They offer a wide range of services that improve the health and happiness of children and their families. Working with children and young people aged 1 to 18, with differing needs and abilities, from all backgrounds, often neurodiverse and those at risk from social exclusion.

We're really blessed in London having wonderful charities like this providing vital services to support young people.

Very sad to see that Chance UK will be closing operations by March next year.
Since 1995, Chance UK has been dedicated to supporting children facing trauma and challenges in childhood.
They do really excellent, vital work and I've had the pleasure of training many of their staff over the years. I wish them all the very best.

I recently delivered a training on behalf of to the wonderful staff and volunteers at Home Start Camden & Islington. They really are a credit to their organisation, the boroughs they serve and the families they support.

Home-Start Camden & Islington (HSC&I) offers free, confidential support and practical help to parents of children under five in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington who are struggling.

Those early years in a child's development are crucial to their long term wellbeing.
And, this is often the time when parents struggle the most due to many factors including financial concerns, time constraints, lack of sleep, poor physical and mentall health.

Its vital young families get as much help as they can at this time and especially as families are often much more dispersed than they used to be. I.e. people may not grow up around aunts, uncles, cousins,grandparents etc. and from that have the support of extended families that they might of not that long ago.
