Personal Leadership Driving Your Growth
In this midst of this pandemic we’re seeing unprecedented change take place, particularly in our work places. Businesses who hadn’t supported initiatives such as working from home are now accepting that employees can be even more efficient when doing so. So, there’s a significant shift occurring with regard to how we run our work / businesses.
However, there are also challenges with this as there can be a risk of overworking at home and of not taking the breaks we normally would at our work place. Therefore, your own Personal Leadership has a significant impact on how you manage all aspects of your life.
What is Personal Leadership?
Personal Leadership is the self-confident ability to crystallise your thinking and establish an exact direction for your own life. It’s also about committing yourself to moving in that direction and then to taking determined action to acquire, accomplish, or become whatever you identify as the ultimate goal in your own life.
Going back to the challenges we’ve all experienced during this pandemic;
o If you’re struggling with managing your time, assess where your time is going and think about how you can prioritise your work more efficiently so that you’re able to create a healthy work:life balance.
o Remote working can also be challenging when it comes to maintaining healthy working relationships with our colleagues so it’s also important to take the time to call, video chat and spend some time with them rather than just purely emails.
Fredrik Kristoffers, Founder of The New Leadership, who is an executive coach and specialist in leadership and personal development says, “For businesses, Personal Leadership is often the shift from a culture where everybody tries and struggle, to a strong and healthier culture where people:
1. Know their goals.
2. Have the tools to achieve them efficiently.
3. Can co-create with their teams and each other on a much deeper level to achieve change, wellbeing and results.
4. Can motivate themselves and others on the way.
“Personal Leadership affects your entire life - your workplace, family, community, health etcetera and, as the saying goes, ‘if you can lead yourself, you can lead others’. This is what makes leadership successful and in the workplace in particular, you are able to create efficiency in teams through trust and collaboration as well as increased financial returns and the ability to reach your goals.”
Developing Personal Leadership is an ongoing process which requires regular reflection and self-evaluation. With conviction and perseverance though you can develop the qualities of an effective personal leader to determine your life course and have a positive effect on those around you.
