The Initiative
Stress, depression, and anxiety are huge problems plaguing the nursing community. This partly stems from their daily experience with life and death situations. Despite the high levels of stress this occupation endures, there isn’t a coordinated and meaningful resource provided for nurses to improve their stress and anxiety levels. Based on a national survey of 102 nurses conducted in the fourth quarter of 2018, roughly 90% of respondents have experienced anxiety, depression, or both associated with their nursing career. Operation Happy Nurse was developed to address the issues associated with this epidemic.
Operation Happy Nurse is a non-profit, online community and will be free of charge for all types of nurses. The community will provide resources that can be personalized based on the needs of the member. Upon creating one’s profile, the member chooses which themed sections they would like to participate in. Therefore their webpage would be personalized to show their tailored stress relief “plan”. Sectors of the webpage would include, but not be limited to: fitness regimens, nutritional support, discussion boards, a book club, podcasts geared toward stress relieving activities, social events, discounts, and hotlines for those in dire need of immediate help.
Your donation will help make this support community a reality. The money would be used to develop and house the website, register the trademark, develop a CRM system, develop content, as well as spread the word through social media to nurses and potential sponsors.
