It’s a great day to get my chest port out! I want to say thank you from the BOTTOM of my heart for all of the kindnesses and prayers. You have walked through this journey with me all the way to the END. When I look in the REARview mirror and reflect, humor has been the best medicine. 🤣💙

BUT(T) seriously, take a SEAT and listen to this.

•Colorectal cancer affects 1:23 men and 1:25 women every year
•Get a colonoscopy screening baseline at 45
•Pay attention to your 💩!
•There is an uptick in the prevalence of colorectal cancer in younger people. See the article here.

Thanks to my sweet daughter, Greta, for the taxi service to and from Eau Claire. She took the grocery list to festival while she waited. ✅

Three month check up today with bloodwork and a CT scan. All is clear and swelling is gone! I am very emotional today in response to this wonderful news. I am also overwhelmed with gratitude for my wonderful providers, loyal friends, church family, kind coworkers, loving caregivers, and my strong and steady family. You mean everything to me.

So happy to have my PLUS 1 with me today to hear the good news! Bloodwork was normal and an abdominal/pelvic CT scan showed no evidence of cancer. It did show some edema (swelling) in the abdominal wall by my incision, and for that I will have a follow up CT on June 4th. I will have a colonoscopy soon for a look INSIDE and I think after that, I will really feel like I can relax a little.

Ran in to my dear friend Angela Hierlmeier at the cancer center and we forgot to take a picture! (She is ok, friends, don’t worry.)

You will never know what you, friends and family, have meant to me. Your uplifting messages, cards, caring words, prayers, and many kindnesses are the stuff of what life is made. I believe that we are all connected. I love you 💙 and I am so grateful.

On my way home! Grabbing a bite and then hitting the recliner.
I miss my cat (and my family 😂)

LAST DAY OF CHEMO!! So grateful for the messages, meals, gifts, prayers, and all of the many kindnesses that you have shared. Thankful for my great care.

What’s next? Test and meeting with my surgeon on December 23rd to determine plan for reversal surgery. My hope is that it will be sooner rather than later!

Loving you from here 💙

Thank you again for all of your prayers, well-wishes, and endless kindnesses. This round is going much better and we are ‘pre-empting’ dehydration with a bag of fluids this morning. Learning while living and thriving through this journey, thanks to such good care 💙 I am so grateful. 💙

This round of chemo is kicking my tail. Thank goodness for the Infusion Goddesses at Mayo Northland (Stacy, Gaylene, Tammy) who can pump me full of IV fluids today. 🧪
