The Swedish meatballs are shaking! Try these tokwa balls with gravy.
We just can't get enough of tofu!
Ingredients:
- 4 pcs egg, beaten
- 1/3 cup cooking oil
- 2 tsps salt
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 cups mashed tokwa
- 2 1/2 cups ground pork
- 2 1/2 cups chopped kalabasa
- 1 cup chopped spinach
- 2 tbsps chopped garlic
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 2 cups chopped kinchay
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups cooking oil for frying
Gravy:
- 1/3 cup cooking oil
- 1/4 cup onion, white
- 1/2 cup flour
- 3 cups water
- 1 pack all purpose cream
- 2 tbsps soy sauce
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 spinach
Procedure:
- Combine eggs, oil, salt and pepper.
- In another bowl, combine tokwa, pork, and the vegetables.
- Add egg mixture. Blend well.
- Divide mixture by 40, shape into balls.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes.
- In a pot, heat oil. Deep fry until the meatball is golden brown.
- Drain excess oil.
Gravy:
- Heat oil in pan and saute onions and flour.
- Add water. Stir thoroughly to avoid lumps. Cover and bring to a boil.
- Add cream, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 2 minutes.
- Add spinach and simmer for 1 minute.
- Pour gravy over the meatballs before serving.
