Does fitness have an age limit? Scientists who study longevity are sure that there are not, and they cite a lot of evidence for this. By staying active, you can improve your health, avoid injury, and even achieve rejuvenation.
You can always start.
There is no age when it is too late to increase your physical activity: this is proved by a long-term study of Swedish scientists, who have observed the influence of movement on the health and life expectancy of more than 2000 participants during 35 years (!).
The first measurements of their health indicators were made at the age of 50 years. Then scientists recorded the data of the participants for comparison with the initial ones at the age of 60, 70, 77 and 82 years. As a result, they were able to calculate that mortality in the group of men who were most active during those 35 years was 32% lower than in the least active people in this study. They also compared the mortality rate in the group of those men who were also active, but moderately, at an average level. The percentage was lower, at 13, which, however, still shows that exercising a little is still better than not moving at all.
