THE RETURN WITHIN
This chapter of my life has asked a lot of me — mentally, emotionally, physically, and in terms of my overall health. It has brought questions, research, hard conversations, and very real lessons about listening to my body and trusting myself.
From this chapter, The Return Within was created — a reflection of coming back to myself.
It hasn’t been a simple path, but it has been an intentional one — and part of that intention includes speaking openly today, on Breast Implant Illness Awareness Day.
Breast Implant Illness (BII) is a term used by patients to describe a range of symptoms they believe may be connected to their breast implants.
There is currently no single diagnostic test for BII. Many individuals spend years navigating appointments, lab work, and referrals before considering implants as a possible contributing factor.
Research is still evolving. While definitive large-scale studies remain limited, patient experiences have helped bring greater medical attention, regulatory review, and more transparent conversations about informed consent.
I’m sharing this not to create fear or to criticize anyone else’s choices. It’s simply an acknowledgment of my own journey. And if someone out there is quietly navigating something similar, consider this an open invitation — you don’t have to carry it alone.
