2 What we do /Solution
We adopt a package to screen non communicable diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, Anaemia, Pregnant care, obesity, visual acuity and malnutrition. Our health navigators (local village health worker) screen the non-communicable diseases at household level in each of the village, captures data such as Height, Weight, BMI, ECG, Blood Pressure, Haemoglobin, Blood Sugar and Vision with nominal price.
c) LIVELIHOOD/SUSTAINABILITY OF THE PROGRAM: The above services are delivered at door step by trained barefoot community nurses at affordable price such as Rs 15 for blood pressure, Rs 25 for blood sugar, Haemoglobin-Rs40 weight Rs2, etc. This amount goes to barefoot nurse/health worker’s livelihood and makes the program self- sustainable.
f) Key strengths : 1)Accessible: Screening non-communicable diseases in once neighbourhood and pre-empt burden of NCDs; 2) Affordable: the costs of tests are affordable to rural and remote population; 3) Livelihood option; It takes care of livelihood for the barefoot nurse while providing preventive health care services;4) Technology: Smart phone enabled solutions for easy workflow, data capture- automation and; We wish to implement NCDs screening program in the locations depending on support from the local leaders. The data from field will be used to guide the government at state level We continuously innovate with collaborative software engineer, a data scientist, a care provider, and a community member sit side-by-side to build a comprehensive view of an individual’s health vis a vis community health. Our technology team members constantly engage to hear what challenges members are facing and synthesize that feedback in order to build technology-driven solutions. Where a barefoot nurse can send feedback right to an engineer, who can immediately start to build a product feature; 5) Community partnerships. We work every day to deepen our understanding of the communities in which we operate. We’ve build networks of community-based organizations and integrate community members into our co-design process to ensure we’re providing the health services that members need most.
