Dr. Ahmed El Shafei Story
Academia never dissociates from pharmacy practice. All the time, I’m passionate about putting the academia in the frame of real and actual pharmacy practice to remove the science barriers with the applied life. So, my slogan is: Put the academia into real practice. Medical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology are the bases upon which one can understand physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology, then you can easily master the therapeutics and professionally manage the most of diseases. So, I have selected it to be my academic specialty, particularly the pathobiology, clinical and pathological chemistry, clinical nutrition, cell signaling, cancer molecular biology, and metabolic diseases.
Regarding the scientific literature and researches, I’ve a great experience in research metrics tracking, knowledge, bibliometric analysis, training, and utilization. I’m experienced in universities ranking strategies, research performance enhancement, and publishing improvement. I’m a peer reviewer for many international journals, including some of the Q1 journals in their specialties. Practically, the community pharmacy is my favorite arena to apply all the knowledge and 2 expertise, especially as a medical consultant and expert trainer in whole aspects of community pharmacy practice. I’ve practicing training and consulting since 2010, 2 years after experiencing community practice in the top community pharmacy in Egypt; Elezaby pharmacy. There, I was and still improving the performance of staff and their quality of providing patients with the most updated, evidence-based information and the most proper way of counseling, through establishing the training department in 2010, and expanding it to be Elezaby Scientific Office and Training Department in 2015, which is the 1st in his kind in the community pharmacies in Egypt. Currently, this department includes three sections for training, consultations and information support, and scientific development and marketing, and all of these sections are working on evidence-based medicine and pharmacy practice.
