It’s Monday. Today’s workout was a run. My runs are not always the same distance or speed, but they always start and end the same. The first mile is where my mind and body flush out mental and physical clutter. This part is the hardest. It’s uncomfortable at first, but gradually I start to feel lighter and more open. As the run continues, my movement and thoughts begin to align. My feet, legs, and breath find their rhythm and my mind soon follows. I attune my speed and intensity with what my mind and body need. I soon find myself with a profound sense of clarity. By the end of the run, I am liberated. This is why I run. It’s moving meditation. It’s freedom. ❤️

Showing up for yourself and committing to your goals fills your cup and in turn gives you more to offer those you love.

Setting a goal is easy. Committing to that goal is the tricky part. When you commit to a goal, fitness or other, you should also commit to a realistic date to reach that goal. Without a date there is no accountability; nothing to hold you to the work that’s involved in reaching the goal.

Once you reach the goal date, you arrive to see what you have accomplished. The feedback you get is how you continue to set new goals moving forward.

GOAL ➡️ DATE ➡️ FEEDBACK ➡️ REPEAT

Hey runners! Running alone? Good for you! Remember to stay alert and safe! 🏃🏻‍♀️ 🏃🏻‍♂️

Ladies, 43% of female runners have reported being harassed while running. While this statistic is disturbing, it shouldn’t deter you from lacing up and feeling the freedom of the wind and sun on your face.

Use these tips to stay safe and alert:

👉🏼Be aware of your surroundings and trust your instincts.
👉🏼Don’t wear headphones or, if you do, only wear one with the noise cancelling off.
👉🏼Bring your phone and keep location services on.
👉🏼Tell someone where you are running and when you plan to be back.

🛑 If you are harassed or feel threatened call 911 immediately. Don’t wait. Holding these individuals accountable is the only way to change the statistic. 👊🏼

Hello! I’d like to (re)introduce myself. I am Jodi Montgomery-Gordon 👋🏼 . I am a degreed fitness professional and ACSM certified personal trainer and have been working in the fitness industry for the past 14 years. I’ve worked in corporate fitness, commercial fitness, and private studios until founding my own business, MojoFitness, LLC in the Fall of 2019.

My passion and commitment to my purpose did not waiver when the pandemic closed and hit the fitness industry hard, just months after I left my job to start my business. I went underground, literally, and created a studio in my basement and taught myself how to teach and train clients virtually. I was hired by a corporate client in Selkrik full time to teach and train employees remotely. I survived. In this space of survival and isolation, I was given time to reflect on life and, after much introspection, decided it was time to try to have my first child with my husband, Dan. I found out I was pregnant in Spring of 2021 and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl January 2022. She is my world and my why.

I am back now. Stronger and wiser. Ready to breathe life back into MojoFitness and resume the path toward doing what I do best; helping others see their potential and believe in themselves.👊🏼
