OT vs ABA in Malaysia

In government hospitals in Malaysia, you will usually find Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech Therapy (ST) services for children with special needs. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is mostly offered in private centres, not in government hospitals.

👉 In short: OT is more common in Malaysia because it has a longer, structured academic pathway, official recognition, and wider institutional support, while ABA is newer, more niche, and less formally regulated.
