A dublin health physio is online pushing for transva**nal mesh suspension to be lifted. Her video contains incorrect information including that TVT does not cause problems- it does! Our group has many women with TVT-lifelong chronic pain 😢 Its is so sad that 1000sof young people have seen her video. She is also a speaker at viva la v***a tour. Dont condemn another generation to this torture. This video has traumatised so many of our group as the speel is very much like that many got from the doctors who put the device in

" I hate the effect that my life changing injuries have on my children. Just last week I found my 8 year old son sitting playing with an old phone. He found some old photos and was looking at them. He told me that it made him feel sad because he wished he was 3 again when I was OK and it was such a happy time than after my operations"

I had a dragging sensation in my pelvic area. My mother had pr*****ed womb so I worried this was also happening to me. I went to a doctor and was told I'd need surgery to repair it. The doctor mentioned a quick fix so I wouldn't end up with leaks as i got older. I agreed not realising that meant I was going to have plastic mesh put in from one side of my hips to the other. I feel stupid for not asking more questions and just blindly going along with what I was been told. That day was the end of my life as I knew it.
I felt different after the surgery but was told this woukd pass over on a few weeks, sure as god as weeks passed the pain got worse.

I got the shock of my life one day when I could feel sharp wire in my private parts. I rushed to A&E as I thought my stitches were coming out. It was explained to me that this was the "sling" put in for my incontinence. I had to Google what a "sling" was and was horrified at the image of it and even more horrified to read that it grows into your body and is almostimpossibleto remove. I felt violated that this had been put into me without knowing but i felt mostly stupid for not asking more before going for the operation.
My life went from walking my dogs, working 3 days a week and chasing after my teenagers to what I feel is just blackness and despair-often just thrown on the couch after the smallest of walks. I have infection after infection. My gp doesn't know what else to do with me. My hips burn where the mesh is-shooting pains run down my legs, my relationship has fallen apart because at the age of 45 I am unable to have s*x due to the damage caused.i feel I have lost my womanhood. I feel ashamed to have burdened my family with this as they suffer with me. I miss out on family events often because of pain or infection.
My life has been taken from me and all to solve a problem that I may get in the future. It is hard to stay positive but I put on a brave face for my family but I cry everyday for the life I have lost.
