Ah the good old days”fluffy” feeling

It’s wild how our perception of our body can shift dramatically, even when our physical body hasn’t changed much at all

Over many years of coaching and many years of experience in my own body, I’ve realised these feelings intensify during holiday periods (like Easter)

Now here’s the thing: Your body moves at its own pace. It doesn’t get bigger with every piece of chocolate or any time we’re out of routine. What often does fluctuate is our internal experience, our stress levels, our emotions, our sense of routine etc

When we look through a Compassion lens, we start to see that “feeling fat” is often our brain’s way of signaling, “Hey, I’m feeling overwhelmed,” or “I’m a bit out of sync.”

If that resonates, try out the 3 steps in this post. There’s no right or wrong way of doing it, they’re curiosity based exercises ❤️

One of the most common things I hear from new clients is their concerns around their overeating patterns

This usually comes together with self criticism.

What often gets labelled as lack of willpower is a symptom of systems that are not working very well

The first step to improve our nutrition habits in general is structure.

Hope you found this helpful ❤️

Make it make sense😌

The things that *actually* move the needle with your health are actually pretty simple

You don’t need red light therapy
You don’t need to eat exclusively organic
You don’t need trackers
You don’t need saunas

Are some of this nice to to have? Absolutely
Are they necessary? Absolutely not.

As l’ve gotten older, l’ve embraced change more and more.

I used to see fitting back into old clothes as my marker of success, but it was very consuming. It is so liberating to embrace the different seasons and have the headspace to see beyond the mirror and the sizes.

If you feel like your body and the idea of fixing it does take up a lot of headspace right now, what would it look like to redirect your energy to the other stuff you value (career, relationships, passions etc)? Would you anything differently?

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve embraced change more and more.

The power of the ripple effect ✨

This is typically how I work with my clients. If we want to sustain our habits, we need to prescribe habits that

A. Actually fit with your lifestyle and your capacity
B. Ones that will make everything else easier

And we build from that 💛

A lot of people have this misconception that body image work means we neglect physical appearance because it’s “vain.”

Not the case. At all.

We still care about how we present ourselves, but in a supportive way. We prioritise our own self-expression, our own values, our own sense of style.

Clothes, makeup, tattoos, hair etc these can all be tools for self expression. The difference lies in the motive.

Are we using them to hide, fix, or meet an external standard?

Or are we using them to express who we are, what we value?

One keeps us stuck in a cycle of never feeling “good enough.”

And the other is a lot more feeing and enjoyable
