Chronic symptoms are not a sign that your body is broken.

Your body is always working to repair and return to balance.
That’s what it’s designed to do.

But healing only completes when the brain and body get the signal that it’s safe.

If the subconscious pattern connected to the symptom is still running, the body keeps getting the message that it’s not safe to finish the healing process.

So the body starts to heal…
then the pattern signals danger…
and the healing response gets interrupted.

I like to describe it like a cut that keeps get bumped and re-opens, starting the healing process all over again.

This is what chronic symptoms are.

Not a body that can’t heal.
A healing process that keeps getting stopped before it can complete.

You can change food, supplements, routines, and treatments…
but if the subconscious pattern doesn’t change, the body keeps getting the same signal.

Your body already knows how to heal.
The only thing stopping it is the pattern telling it that it isn’t safe yet.

Most of your programming was set before the age of 12.

Back then, your brain learned patterns about what is safe, what isn’t, and how to adapt to your environment.

Those patterns don’t disappear when you grow up.
Your subconscious keeps running them automatically.

And when the brain thinks something isn’t safe, it sends signals to the body to adapt.

That’s why chronic symptoms aren’t random.

This isn’t mindset.
This isn’t woo.
It’s biology.

In school we’re given classes that are supposed to prepare us for life as adults.

Math.
Science.
History.
Health.

But one of the most important things you could understand about yourself never makes the list.

Your subconscious mind.

Then we get out into the real world and when we hear the word subconscious, we’re told it’s woo, mindset stuff, or something mystical.

Or we hear explanations that are based on opinions, beliefs, or incomplete understanding.

But the subconscious isn’t woo.

It’s biology.

It’s the part of the brain that stores patterns, evaluates safety, and automatically controls many of the systems in your body.

Which means if you don’t understand the subconscious,
you won’t understand why your body keeps reacting the way it does…
and you’ll keep trying to fix symptoms without ever changing the message that’s creating them.

In this episode, I break down what the subconscious actually is, what it’s designed to do, and how those stored safety rules can influence things like anxiety, digestive issues, pain, fatigue, and other chronic symptoms.

Most people are trying to heal
without changing the patterns
their body adapted to.

They focus on symptoms.
They try to calm the sensations.
They search for the right protocol.

But symptoms are not the problem.

They are your body’s language.

A signal that something in the way you’ve been living, responding, or relating to life needs to change.

Your body adapted to the patterns it was experiencing.

Patterns like:

• Overthinking every decision
• People-pleasing and avoiding conflict
• Taking responsibility for everyone else
• Pushing through exhaustion
• Living in constant pressure to get things right
• Carrying emotional weight that was never yours

Your body didn’t create symptoms randomly.

It adapted.

And if those patterns stay the same,
your body has no reason to change.

Healing happens when the patterns that created the adaptation finally change.

Stopping the focus on symptoms.

Symptoms are loud.
They disrupt your life.
So naturally, most people try to get rid of them.

But here’s the truth:

If focusing on your symptoms and trying to get rid of them was the solution, you'd be better already. You've already done that over and over.

At some point, if what you’re doing isn’t working…
you have to change what you’re doing.

That’s the decision Denise made.

Instead of chasing symptoms, she focused on the patterns telling her body to keep adapting. (aka symptoms)

And once those patterns changed,
her body got the green light to heal.

Your body adapts.

That’s what it’s designed to do.

When there’s unresolved patterns… your body doesn’t break.

It adjusts.

And sometimes that adjustment shows up as:

– Digestive issues
– Anxiety
– Fatigue
– Rashes
– Palpitations
– Food sensitivities

We call them “symptoms.”

Biologically? They’re adaptations.

Most healing advice focuses on stopping the symptom.

But if the pattern driving the adaptation doesn’t change…
the body keeps adapting.

Anxiety isn’t proof that something is wrong with you.

It’s a state created when fear and powerlessness collide.

Fear says something might go wrong.
Powerlessness says you won’t be able to handle it.

So your body prepares you.

That preparation feels like anxiety.

Most healing advice focuses on calming the symptom.

But calming the symptom doesn’t change what your subconscious believes about you.

And regulation alone doesn’t rebuild your sense of capability.

Anxiety shifts when your subconscious begins to believe:

“I can handle this.”

That belief isn’t created by insight.

It’s created when your actions consistently demonstrate safety in the exact areas your patterns once felt threatened.

That’s not random.
And it’s not surface-level.

It’s specific targeted work.
