There’s a phase in the Handleless Maiden story where she spends three years alone, regrowing her own hands.
Not a punishment — an initiation.
A time when the old story falls away and a new one is forming in the dark.
Many of us are in that season now: shedding what doesn’t fit, walking through shadow, learning our own strength again.
And for anyone who finds themselves single during this time… it often becomes a powerful doorway. Your nervous system resets. Your energy returns to your own body. You remember yourself without interruption.
This is the part of healing that happens underneath the surface — in the psyche, in the fascia, in the breath, in the story your body holds.
It’s where real reconstruction begins.
If you’re in your “three years,” you’re not lost.
You’re becoming.
