Small batch re-stock, preparing for the upcoming Quadra Christmas market this Friday evening.
Breathe deep balm, peppermint lip balm, rash cream and breast & body massage oil.
After the clean up, its on to filling more dream pillows, organizing gift box ideas and putting the final touches on some macrame pieces.
See you Friday, and again on Dec. 6 and 20 at the winter markets!

Pro- harvester tip: always wear a hat; you never know when you'll come across a bounty!
This fallen pine was loaded with usnea- as always- only harvested this slow growing lichen from fallen branches!
Usnea is anti fungal, anti microbial, can help with cold and flu viruses as well as bacterial infections. It can be taken internally as well as dried, powdered and applied topically to skin infections and wounds to promote healing.

Rash Cream for the win!
This is the first message I received today and it made me so happy to hear!
This client has been a fan of my rash cream for a long time and first used it on her grandson for skin irritations.
Originally formulated for my son when he was a wee babe to treat his diaper rash and later, eczema, this is an all purpose skin soother- available in two forms; with or without essential oils (the EO's added for their extra anti bacterial benefits when treating eczema).

Picked up a bundle of fresh tulsi from a gardener in town as mine didn't produce well this year.
Driving around with my to-do list and once the sweet, grounding smell of tulsi filled the car, I just pulled over beside the ocean and drank my tea.
I may not get my busy list complete today and that's ok. Tulsi is gifting me what I need.

USNEA aka Old Man's Beard.
Finding out that impetigo was present in my son's school was the motivation I needed to finally strain my usnea tincture and finish my dual extract!
Usnea is anti bacterial and is active against both step and staph; two bacterias that can cause impetigo.
In addition to taking elderberry syrup on the reg, my family has been taking a bit of usnea extract- both help with immunity and the usnea, of course, for its bacteria fighting action!
I noticed a spot on my son's lip the day after finding out about the impetigo case, and started administering the extract topically as well as internally and, by the next day it had reduced to a mere dot- shrinking before my eyes!!!
Amazing!

**usnea has very tough cell walls as well as constituents that are only extracted by certain menstruums, and so, a dual extract is required to reap these benefits
**usnea is Very slow growing, so only ever harvest from fallen branches!
** usnea has many more benefits than this that I'll share in another post, another time😉

This skullcap will be tinctured fresh for maximum potency and, since fresh shepherd's purse was used for today's tincture making demo, this bunch will be dried.
