Hello all…It has been a while since I have posted but God is good. We went to the neurologist the 1st time since HSCT Mexico by Clínica Ruiz and Dr. Cuascut was very pleased with Josh Gurka’s progress. He has asked that we keep a log on his progress as this could be the next step to helping someone else with PPMS. They are doing a trial for stem cell on RRMS but his Dr. Mentioned they don’t have a lot of information on stem cell helping PPMS patients so he would like to use Josh’s progress as a learning opportunity.
Josh’s neuropathy in his right hand is gone and his left hand is significantly better. He can now actually walk heel to toe which he couldn’t do before HSCT without assistance.
He is off all MS medication….PRAISE GOD

Sorry it’s been a while since the last update. We have been home for 2 1/2 weeks and all is going well. Josh Gurka is doing Amazing so far. He is off all of his MS medication. He has not had to close one eye to watch TV, his neurothpathy has gotten better, and his left hand (not MS related-some form of eczema) is cleared up. God is GOOD. If we can visibly see these changes on the outside I can only imagine the good it is doing to the inside. HSCT Mexico by Clínica Ruiz has been a true miracle this far.
Goodbye MS. Hello new beginnings.

Wow! Hard to believe that a month has gone by. As hard as it was to be away from home and our kiddos and family and friends what a wonderful month of rejoicing and recovery it has been. We are getting to come home today and we are definitely leaving MS in Mexico. Thank you all for the prayers and continued support. We could not have done this without you. May God Bless and watch out Texas we are coming home.

Today was a low key day, Josh relaxed and I suffered from a migraine. Took a walk and enjoyed the view from the balcony.

Today Josh is completing the last big part of the HSCT treatment process. There will still be some Dr. visits and consultations but we are definitely on the down hill stretch as we will head home Saturday.

Today was a busy day, morning started with labs, then grocery store for me, then filgrastim shot, then hematology appointment. Josh had some bone pain in his hips, back and chest…which the Dr. say is good. It means his white blood cells are coming back up which is great but not good for Josh’s pain.
The Dr.s decided to skip his filgrastim shot tomorrow.
Ended the day with great friends.

Today is day 21 for us here in Mexico. Josh is still doing great. He had a little bone pain today and a headache but overall things are great. Tomorrow we will start the last week of our journey here in Mexico. He will start with labs to recheck his levels, then filgrastim shot, then appointment with the hematologist. Keep the prayers coming they are working.

Filgrastim shot, fresh air, and shaved Josh head/facial hair….pics coming tomorrow.

Josh is doing very good. He is bored out of his mind of course. His white blood cell count and platelets are down which is to be expected. He had bloodwork this am, filgrastim shot at lunch, then hematology appointment this afternoon.
