Ben has been doing AMAZINGLY 7 months post dosing, he is able to sit by himself, pull his feet to his mouth, roll over, eat baby food and babble, his favorite new thing is shaking his head no 😂 we go Wednesday to get fitted for a compression vest and sleeves to help strengthen his diaphragm and give him freedom to use his wrists while playing but also strengthen his wrists ♥️

Yesterday was the big day, baby Ben went for his zolgensma infusion, it went fantastically, we will be going back to Hopkins Monday for follow up with PT 💜💜💜

On August 6th 2020 at just 6 days old we got a call that Ben has SMA, we were blindsided, had never heard of this disease, we went to Hopkins the same day and met with a pediatric neurologist, got blood work to check the severity, 7 days later we got the news that he has the most severe form (SMA type 1), kids with SMA type 1 have in the past had very short life expectancies (68% less than 2 years and 82% less than 4) thankfully with the advances in medicine Ben is able to get a 1 time infusion of Zolgensma and has a very good outlook 💙
