Happy New Year, friends. I wanted to share some insight with you. Please read the caption and enjoy this smoothie bowl!

It's used to make you feel bad for indulging over the holiday season to sell you detoxes, gym memberships, weight loss plans, magic pills, etc. when we are most vulnerable. Pay attention, right around now you are going to see this narrative being pushed really hard. Brace yourselves...
Why the new year? The start date is arbitrary and I feel like there is so much pressure to set resolutions come January 1. The level of this content comes at us quick and makes us feel as though we've already failed within the first few seconds of January because we havenโt set any goals. 2021 has been rough, be gentle with yourself and ask "am I ready to make these changes and do they support the life I want?".
Lastly, you are perfectly fine the way you are. Remember this. It's hard, I know, we feel the need to get up at 5 am and crush our workouts because everyone else is doing it. Stop comparing yourself to others.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to set goals, but let's stop this BS narrative that we will wake up as new people in January and do all of the things we've avoided for most of our lives.
My advice? Make 2022 the year you take baby steps. Small goals. Small goals will lead to big goals. Take the stairs. Drink more water. Eat more fruits and veggies. Go for a walk after dinner. These things are more achievable and you're likely to stick with them in the long term.
My mantras for 2022 will be: This too shall pass. Go with the flow. Trust the process. Breathe
