As the holidays approach and the sun sets earlier, seasonal depression can start to kick in for many of us. Add that to the short-staffing situation plaguing our healthcare systems and the budget cuts of hospitals, and you get a team of people that are frustrated and burnt-out while pushing through to care for those in need.
Poor ratios, increasing demands for overtime, and a lack of appreciation are felt every single day by our healthcare partners on the front lines.
It is important for us all to remember that work is work, and not our lives. Take some time off if needed, develop a health hobby, get some sunlight, and most importantly, check in on your colleagues that you know might be struggling during these cold months and tough seasons for some.
You can't take care of others if you dont take care of yourself.
