Recognizing our emotions around food is the first step to understanding ourselves.

Without this awareness, healing our relationship with food isn’t possible; we remain trapped in cycles of guilt and confusion.

By acknowledging how we feel about food, we open the door to self-compassion and growth.

EMBRACING VULNERABILITY

Being open and vulnerable about our relationship with food can lead to personal growth, deeper self-awareness, and positive change. By honestly exploring and sharing our experiences and feelings around food, we create opportunities for a healthier, more balanced approach to eating and overall well-being. This openness can foster a more compassionate and understanding relationship with ourselves.

WHY FAMILY MEALS MATTER

Food is more than just sustenance; it’s a way to bring families closer together. Here’s why sharing meals is so special:

1. Strengthens Bonds 🤎: Family dinners are a time to connect and share life’s moments.

2. Creates Traditions: Regular meals build cherished traditions and memories.

3. Encourages Healthy Eating 🥗: Home-cooked meals mean healthier choices for everyone.

4. Promotes Positive Behavior: Kids benefit from the routine and open conversations at the table.

5. Provides Emotional Support 🤗: Meal times offer a sense of security and belonging.

6. Fosters Life Skills 🛠️: Cooking together teaches responsibility and teamwork.

Make mealtime meaningful. Share, connect, and savor the moments! 🍽️💫

WHAT I WISH EVERY WOMAN KNEW ABOUT NUTRITION

Embrace imperfection, instead of all or nothing: Rather than striving for perfect adherence to dietary rules, focus on making gradual changes.

Add more of the things that make you feel good: Approach this as looking at a plate of food and asking, "What can I add, not what can I take away?"

Hustle culture is disconnecting us from our bodies and hunger cues: This drive for constant achievement can result in disregarding when we’re truly hungry or full, as we prioritize work and responsibilities over listening to our bodies. Going for a walk in nature, slowing down, and being mindful of our choices helps us break free from those societal standards.

Food is so much more than just a number: It’s a source of pleasure and fulfillment that goes beyond its role in maintaining physical health, enriching our lives with its ability to create experiences and evoke emotions.

If I am being honest with you, this is just scratching the surface. As a 1990s and 2000s girlie 👋, we were taught to eat less, be skinny, and then you'll ultimately be happy. That's complete BS.

What’s one thing diet culture has taught you? That's FALSE. Drop your thoughts in the comments. 👇👇

SAVOR THE SEASON

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, but remember, the true essence of the season lies in the joy and satisfaction these moments bring. Step away from societal expectations, perfection, and diet culture.

Cherish every laugh, every shared meal, and every heartfelt conversation. These are the moments that create lasting happiness. 🤎✨️

FOOD BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER

Food has a unique ability to connect people on multiple levels, functioning as more than just sustenance. It nourishes both the body and the soul, serving as a bridge between individuals and cultures. Sharing a meal can be a powerful act of connection, fostering a sense of community and belonging.

At a basic level, food provides the essential nutrients that our bodies need to function and thrive. But beyond physical nourishment, it also plays a significant role in emotional and social well-being. The act of preparing and sharing food often involves care, tradition, and personal touch, which can evoke feelings of comfort and love.
