Botox has made it to the Recovery Lab, but what is botox and who needs it? Here is a brief blurb from our Nurse Practioner, Vanessa.

Patients not familiar with Botox sometimes ask me in what areas botox is administered. The above is where botox is generally administered for cosmetic reasons.

Facial lines are caused by a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons include reduction of collagen due to aging, genetics, free radical damage (caused by sun, pollutants, smoking), and by repeated muscle contractions under the surface of the skin.
These repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows can cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. Botox works beneath the skin to temporarily reduce muscle activity improving the look of skin and preventing further damage.

Botox, lip filler, and more has arrived to the Recovery Lab!

We have partnered with Young's Medical Spa out of our Brodheadsville location in Signature Training Academy. Our medical spa room is almost complete and we will be offering services very shortly! Without further ado, meet Vanessa.

👋 Hi! My name is Vanessa Esbri, and I am a licensed registered nurse practitioner. I have been a practicing nurse since 2008, with experience in several medical fields, including emergency medicine, gerontology, dermatology, and esthetic medicine.

🎓 I obtained both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from DeSales University, with an emphasis on family medicine. I am board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and am a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, American Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, and Empire Medical Training.

💉 The procedures that I regularly perform in my practice include BOTOX® and Dysport® injections, Juvederm® and Restylane® filler injections, Kybella® injections, QWO® injections, various microneedling devices (Venus Viva, Morpheus treatments, Skin Pen®), PRP treatments, Ultherapy and thread-lifts.

Recovery Monday:

Happy recovery Monday,

I'd like to inroduce the Chest & Shoulder Protocol. If you feel like shoulders are pulled forward, you're having shoulder issues through your lift, or even if you're stuck behind a keyboard all day this session is for you! We start with slide cupping of the pectoralis (chest muscle) from the origins along the clavicle and sternum inserting up towards the shoulder. From slide cupping we move to Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, and follow up with percussion gun work. We then work to the anterior (front) of the shoulder, lateral aspect of the shoulder, and then the posterior. Yes thats right, you have actually have 3 section of deltoids (shoulders.)
