I often find myself in awe of the effectiveness of camouflage. I know that’s what it’s there for but for me it is a wonder if creation. But what about us as humans? How often do we use camouflage to protect ourselves or wish we could be noticed and seen not hidden? Talking through these tendencies helps us understand ourselves better bringing healing and wholeness. Can you spot what’s hiding?

As are still being impacted by the corona virus pandemic and I know from my personal and professional conversations that many of us are still experiencing the intensity of the last few months. It is very common for us to hold this tension in our bodies so ‘breathing well’ is a helpful way of releasing build up. Breathing techniques often form part of my work with my clients. I encourage you. * Breathe deeply
* In through your nose
* Out through your mouth
* In for a count of 7
* Out for a count of 11
* Repeat
* As you breathe out, be aware of tension leaving your body.

The mental health issues related to lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression. The wonderful charity MIND have a 24 hour helpline: 03001233393

Isn’t this so true? How often do we find ourselves not appreciating the good right in front of us instead seeking happiness in unhelpful or destructive ways? Perhaps take a moment right now to notice some positives and allow this to be enough

I’ve just been having initial phone conversations with new people enquiring about counselling. Really aware of how much courage is required to take the first step but also aware of the peace, happiness and contentment that comes from working things through.

I’ve recently been thinking about the old saying “practice makes perfect”. This saying is often used to encourage someone to keep practicing but does it mean you are not ‘good enough’ if you aren’t perfect? Recognising the impact of sayings and reappraising their meaning can be helpful in releasing our thinking and therefore looking after our mental health.

With lockdown easing and many of us being required to venture out, you may notice yourself feeling anxious. Using a grounding technique can focus your mind and help with recentering and feeling calmer.
