In recognizing A & E ward for their consistent IPC/PPE measures in the previous month, we awarded them with thermometers, lancets, swabs, hand towel and a cake. Once again, congratulations A & E 🎉👏🏽

This month, who will it be? We encourage all wards to observe hand hygiene and all IPC-PPE measures even at this low point in the COVID-19 curve.

As the country is experiencing a drop in the COVID-19 cases, there is usually complacency in observing infection prevention and control (IPC)measures.
We therefore would like to encourage all wards to continuously observe hand hygiene and IPC measures as we have been doing at the peak of the waves.
In that spirit we’d like to recognize A & E for maintaining consistent high IPC scores of all wards over the past month. Congratulations A & E team !!🎉 (a present awaits)

Congratulations Paediatric Special Care Ward for winning the IPC/PPE competition of the past fortnight.🎉

We continue to encourage and enforce PPE/IPC measures as there is a scare of a second COVID-19 wave. In this regard, there are on going observations on PPE usage and hand hygiene in the wards.

All wards let us maintain the hard work to win the next prize.

As we begin a new week of Sanitation Championship, we throw back to our Last time Winners, Chatinkha Nursery who scored highly on PPE usage. 🎉

Remember the competition is still on as COVID-19 is still among us. Scores are now focusing more on PPE usage and ward prizes are being showered every 2-weeks. However competition is every day.

Let us keep our environment, our patients, our colleagues and ourselves safe from COVID-19!!

◾WE WILL FOCUS MORE ON THE USE OF PPE‼️

A new scoring sheet will be shared across all wards with bonus points allocated for appropriate PPE usage according to ward tier.

THIS IS AIMED AT MAINTAINING HIGH SAFETY STANDARDS DESPITE A DROP IN THE COVID-19 CURVE‼️

On Thursday we Throw Back to last week IPC/PPE Champions: Chatinkha Nursery Ward.
They won the award in the first week and final week of August. CONGRATULATIONS!!🎉

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT!!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr Elizabeth Mlombwa who until her demise was a Medical Officer of the QECH, Paediatric Department.

Her selfless service and life will be greatly missed.

May The Lord comfort us all and her family. And May Her Soul Rest in Eternal Peace 🌹
