Lambda Health Initiative is a grassroots movement built by residents of Harvey County working under the mission to build a more inclusive, culturally-, and orientation-competent healthcare system and a safer community for LGBTQ and all residents.

Free and Reduced Meal Applications are open! t.ly/5FMMn

The Consent for Disclosure must be filled out to apply your Free and Reduced Meal qualification to your student's fees. (Due September 1.)

If you would like to apply using a paper application, you may pick up a form at Newton High School or contact Elaine Gaeddert by using this form: t.ly/qoqZ4 or by calling (316) 284-6280 ext. 2205.

If you need assistance filling out the forms, please take advantage of our in-person help sessions this week to get this completed. Help Sessions are today and tomorrow (July 9 and 10), from 11am - 7pm, and Thursday, July 11th from 7am - 3pm at Newton High School. Translators will be available.

The Porch and Health Ministries - thanks to the generous donations of several local churches - are hosting a FREE winter clothing pop-up "shop"!

Saturday, February 11 from 8-noon (or until items are gone) at The Porch.

The Porch is located at 724 N Main Street.

All items are free.

Please take what you need and be thoughtful of others that also have a need.

We've received a lot of great feedback already as we work to update the county's comprehensive plan, but there's still time to share your perspective! The comprehensive plan is a guiding document used as a decision-making tool by the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board and Harvey County Commission for determinations on land development.

The online survey is still open through Feb. 21. You can find it here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/harveycocompplan

If you'd like a paper copy of the survey, or have one and need to return it, visit the Planning, Zoning and Environmental office at the Harvey County Courthouse through Feb. 21.

We're updating the county's comprehensive plan, and there are public meetings coming up to share your perspective. The comprehensive plan is a guiding document used as a decision-making tool by the Planning and Zoning Advisory Board and Harvey County Commission for determinations on land development.

Upcoming days and locations of meetings:

🌳 Jan. 12, 2022: Meridian Center, 1420 E. Broadway Ct., Newton, KS
☀️ Jan. 13, 2022: Harvey County Camp Hawk shelter, 1801 SW. 36th St., Newton, KS

Each meeting will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The meetings generally follow the same format and discussion, and you can come and go throughout.
