When comparing Medicare Advantage plans, don’t skip the ⭐️ rating!
Plans are scored 1–5 stars by Medicare based on quality, member satisfaction, and customer service.
A 5-star plan isn’t automatically the best fit for you, but it’s a good sign of overall performance.
➡️ Pro tip: Medicare allows a Special Enrollment Period once per year if you switch into a 5-star plan (when available in your county).

That’s the #1 reason people skip their annual Medicare review—and it’s also the #1 reason they overpay.
Drug manufacturers, pharmacies, and insurance carriers all adjust their contracts each year.
Even a small change (like your medication moving to a new tier or your pharmacy losing preferred status) can cost hundreds more annually.
➕ Bonus tip: If you have a MAPD, your plan’s medical copays may change, too.
Checking your coverage takes minutes—but only during AEP (Oct 15–Dec 7).
After that window, you’re locked in for the year unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment.

🔔 Heads-up for anyone needing a Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) review:
Beginning November 8, Humana will remove all stand-alone PDPs from every quoting engine. Once that happens, agents—including me—will no longer be able to access the full lineup of PDP options.
Since I believe in giving my clients a complete, unbiased comparison, I will pause all PDP reviews after November 8.
Without Humana in the mix, any analysis would be incomplete and could mislead you on cost or coverage.
✅ MAPD (Medicare Advantage with drug coverage) reviews will still be available, since those plans remain active on all systems.
💊 If you want your stand-alone PDP checked this year, please reach out before November 8. After that, we’ll resume only once full quoting access returns.
📅 Deadline for PDP reviews: November 7.
I know this can be frustrating—but accuracy matters. I’ll always choose to pause rather than give partial or unreliable information.
