Chores help children develop important life skills, teaches responsibility, and fosters a sense of accomplishment. Doing chores regularly also contribute to better academic performance, problem-solving skills, and overall success in life.

In school settings, big behaviors are often labeled as sensory needs, but many times, the root cause is emotional and relational, not sensory input.

A child may look “sensory” when they are actually:
• overwhelmed
• anxious
• frustrated
• unsure
• disconnected from adults

💛 Co-Regulation Addresses the Nervous System First

Before sensory tools can work, the nervous system needs to feel safety.

Co-regulation provides:
• a calm adult presence
• emotional validation
• predictability
• support through stress

Without this foundation, sensory tools often become:
• avoidance tools
• power struggles
• temporary fixes

Sensory Tools Don’t Teach Regulation on Their Own

Weighted items, fidgets, movement breaks, and calm corners are helpful, but they don’t teach regulation unless paired with an adult.

Kids don’t automatically learn:
• when to use tools
• why they help
• how to calm their body

That learning happens through co-regulation.

Connection isn’t built by saying the right thing.
It’s built by not leaving when it’s uncomfortable.

Staying doesn’t mean fixing it.
It means your child isn’t alone in the hard moment.

Our Happy Halloween 2025.

We had a week long of giving treats and seeing our students in their costumes. They were spooktacular!

During our Saturday group session we did setup game stations where the kids can play games and learn. Everyone enjoyed their sweet time.

Thank you AASTC family for making this a successful event for all.

Ask A Speechie Therapy Clinic had a successful and productive weekend learning CPR, heart attack, creating bandages and a whole lot more!

Our Ausome tweens, teens and their families enjoyed the lecture, the actual demo and their practice on how to correctly do the Heimlech maneuver, signs and symptoms of a heart attack, and safe and correct administration of CPR.

This event would not have been possible if not for the support of San Lorenzo School - San Pedro for the venue. We appreciate your generosity truly. Thank you Mommy Gianne of ASP San Pedro Chapter (in formation) for initiating this event. We are glad that you chose AASTC to have this demo teaching. Thank you Philippine Red Cross Muntinlupa Branch for giving the opportunity to learn and practice First Aid. Lastly thank you to all the families who took time and participated in this activity so to make a difference by learning survival skills together with their Ausome loved ones. 🥰⛑️
