Pilates as strength training…

*pilates training uses springs (from light to very heavy) to provide resistance to the muscles being trained through concentric (shortening) contraction and eccentric (lengthening) contraction.
*pilates is a whole body approach to training. Alignment and stability through the pelvis and spine, and at the shoulder and hip, maximizes efficiency of movement and strength of the arms and legs.
*pilates is mindful - promoting awareness of posture, deep stabilizers/core, and overall body mechanics at all times!
*pilates is safe, controlled and a low impact form of strength training
*pilates as a means of resistance training can be graded and adapted to train for all life activities (like gruelling yard work!)
*pilates = strength and so much more…. 💪

Sunday April 13, 2025 marks our 5 year anniversary of online strength/core/pilates classes!
3 classes a week (with only a few weeks off) x 5 years = A LOT of classes!

And still going strong! In fact stronger ever year! Yeah us!!!
