**PLEASE SHARE** Tomorrow is World Su***de Prevention Day. Every life lost to su***de is a tragedy. It is important that we come together and talk about this topic, both to reduce stigma and help save lives.
As part of my PhD research, I am exploring the acceptability of asking about su***de during pregnancy and after birth. Given that su***de is a leading direct cause of maternal death, it is essential that questions about su***de are appropriate, relevant and in context to being an expectant or new mother so that women who may be at risk are identified and supported early.
I am currently recruiting pregnant and postnatal women, and healthcare practitioners (who work in maternity care, e.g., Midwives, GPs, Health Visitors etc.) to take part in a one-to-one interview with me (lasting approximately one-hour) via Zoom/Teams or over the phone, to better understand this very important topic. Please see the attached posters for further details, and eligibility requirements.
I will not be recruiting anyone who is experiencing current suicidality or self-harming behaviours. However, I would like to recruit a number of participants who have experienced suicidality or mental health issues in the past, alongside those who have not.
PLEASE share this post amongst your networks, and if you have any questions, please email me at: Elizabeth.Dudeney@City.ac.uk.
THANK YOU 🙏🏻
