Positive Gower sign in patient of duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The Gower sign is a medical sign that indicates proximal muscle weakness, particularly in the lower limbs. It is named after Sir William Richard Gower, an English neurologist. The sign is positive when a person has difficulty rising from a squatting or kneeling position, and needs to use their hands to "walk" up their legs to stand up. This is often seen in muscular dystrophy, particularly Duchenne muscular dystrophy, as well as other myopathies.

Patient presented with complaint of lingual dystonia ( a subtype of oromandibular dystonia, which is a movement disorder characterized by involuntary sustained or intermittent contraction of the masticatory and/or tongue muscles) for 5 years having difficulty in swallowing and speaking.
