3 years ago I found myself in India with one goal: to learn everything I could about yoga. Of all the lessons that I learned there, the most valuable one was that I literally know nothing. None of us do, really. I can reinvent myself and the world around me with every new day and breath. We are simply the observers of the fluctuations of the mind. This was the most freeing discovery, and I’ve been changed ever since.
To say the very least, this experience was a month of extremes: days of silence, 4am wake-ups, Delhi Belly, a torn meniscus, physical exhaustion, pushing my body - and certainly my mind - to the absolute limit. But also santosha, friendship, dancing, animals, colour, music, incredible food, and spending all day every day falling more deeply in love with the journey of yoga. And freedom from the chains of my self-conscious judgements and opinions.
I am grateful for everything I experienced and learned during my time in India. This month broke me and rebuilt me in ways im still trying to understand, and not sure if i ever will. 🪷
