I used to avoid nuts for “too many calories.” The research says the opposite. Regular nut intake is linked with a lower risk of heart disease and better cholesterol, and trials show nuts aren’t associated with weight gain. They keep you full because they combine protein, fiber, and healthy fats.

Simple rule: one handful a day (~30 g). Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, or cashews. Add to yogurt or salads, or eat them straight. Unsalted. Not candied. Portion matters.
