This is to ALL Victor Blue Devils!

We received the fantastic news today that Tedy Wagner (our football athlete who underwent a heart transplant in May) is finally coming home tonight!!! This is incredible news to say the least!

We are organizing a drive by parade set for 3pm tomorrow (Friday). We will meet in the Somerset Hill neighborhood, line up and drive around the loop Tedy's family lives on. Please bring cheers, waves, signs, music, anything festive you can think of! We need to be considerate of Tedy's immune system, but we want to welcome him home BIG time. You can plug in 347 Franlee Lane if you need an address for your GPS.

As you, hopefully, know by now supporting Ted and his family is step 1 in our new "Footprints" program. We hope these efforts surrounding Tedy will teach our kids about compassion, teamwork and showing up for people because we ALL need a friend at some point.

We know an afternoon can be tough with work times, but Friday evenings and weekends are so busy that there isn't a perfect answer. If there's any way you can make it we know it would mean a TON to the Wagner family.

Answer questions, just ask. Thank you in advance for showing a kid that we have his back!❤

Update: Tedy continues to get stronger each day. We spend a lot of time inside building legos and hanging out. He takes a couple of walks each day outside, we have to be mindful of others and make sure to stay to ourselves because of his comprised immune system. Right now our main focus is on eating and staying hydrated, two important things to help keep his kidneys safe and to help fight off rejection. Each day brings something new. We are scheduled for our second heart catheter on July 9th, which is the best way to test for rejection. If that goes well we will be released back to Victor. We cannot wait to come home, Tedy misses everyone very much!! Thank you for your continued support and love ❤️❤️🙏🏻 Brian, Robbie, Morgan and Tedy

Update: Tedy is making great physical progress. The emotional piece has been more of a challenge for him. We are getting our first Post-Transplant biopsy tomorrow and if there is no sign of rejection we hope to be discharged on Thursday night. We have to remain in Pittsburgh for another 4-6 weeks before we can return home to Victor. Tedys immune system is very suppressed and will require him to be quarantined for the majority of that 4-6 weeks as well. We will revisit what he can do once that time is up, hopefully we will be able to see friends and family when we return but it will be a wait and see process. The doctors are also running pathology tests on Tedy’s “ex-heart” to see if we can figure out what caused this damage, we have heard from the surgeon and the pathologist that neither have ever seen such damage in a child. It’s so shocking because Tedy appeared so healthy to all of us, we had no idea how sick he really was. We are so grateful for everyone’s support and care, we couldn’t do this without you ❤️ Please continue to pray for Ted, he has a very long journey 🙏🏻

Update from Robbie & Brian:
The past few days have been good, Tedy is up and walking a couple of times a day. He was able to have his chest tubes removed today, which has left him tired and cranky. The doctors are very happy with how his heart is doing.

Update: Tedy is continuing to progress forward. The past 36 hours have been a rollercoaster of emotions, a lot of pain, a lot of sleeping and a couple of smiles. Tedy is looking forward to coming home and getting back to normal, a constant question of “when can I leave?” We hope to get his chest tubes out tomorrow, which will help so much with his ability to get up and move more freely. He has a habit of getting up without warning us and it can be a bit chaotic. We sleep when he sleeps so we can be there when he needs anything. We love him so much and are excited to come home as much as he is. It’s been six nights since our call to come to Pittsburgh and it feels like it was forever ago. We will never be able to tell everyone how much the support and love for our baby boy means to us, and the outpouring of help for Morgan and our pups. Thank you 🙏🏻-Robbie and Brian

Update: Tedy is more awake and we are more involved today. He’s doing amazing, the doctors are very pleased ❤️. If everything keeps progressing like this he will be out of the CICU Sunday! We are so thankful for all the support & love we felt these past few days from the community. It really helped us to know we have so many wonderful people who care so much about Tedy. Please continue to pray that his recovery stays on this course.
