This is an excellent infographic on the physical impact of .

Take a look at the resolutions for each.

Resolution is what we aim for.
need not be permanent.

It is totally possible to move from post traumatic stress to resolution and then onto post traumatic growth with the benefits of fortitude and resilience IF you work with someone.

The healthcare industry is slowly but surely moving away from talk therapy to body based practices, recognising the benefits of this.

I'm happy to have 1 foot in each world. Yoga and healthcare

The beauty of body-based work is that words are not always necessary.
Not everyone wants to or needs to talk through their past.

All of these areas are addressed in the 200 hr yoga teacher training as well as private retreat clients and if you need personal 1:1 services online or in Hamilton Ontario, its all personalized and addressed.

There are similarities in stress response but not everyone responds in the same way.
A personal approach is required.

I spent 7 years of my twenties not creating. I blamed it on school and so many other things but really it was a reflection of how I was living my life and I wasn’t okay.
My art was rigid and exact and perfectionistic. It was exhausting to create and the worthiness of the creation was determined by how much it would sell for. There was no joy because I was creating according to external measures of “enough”...much how I was creating my life.

To practice an intuitive form of art, devoid of planning and perfecting, has been incredibly healing. When I am in my head too much, thinking and ruminating, this is one way I can process without intellectualizing myself to death.

Collage is great for those who feel pressure around creativity. You can select images and words that stand out to you and arrange them however feels best to you. It is a practice in paying attention to what you are drawn to, to what you like. It is a practice in being attentive to yourself, an exploration and an invitation. You might be surprised at what shows up when you aren’t filtering yourself.

If you are interested in practicing art and mindful, yoga-based movement, join me for the workshop Nov 17. Registration link in bio.

I have spent a good portion of my life I terrified of what my body was saying and what I might feel. So instead of listening, I did everything I could to control, perfect, avoid, and numb. As you can imagine, this tactic was not sustainable. But we are taught to wear weariness like a badge of honor. Conceal don’t feel.
If you were to pause now, defenses aside, what would your body be trying to tell you? What will it take for you to listen?

Hello friends! My name is Tiffany and welcome to Peaceful Embodiment. I am glad you have found your way here and am happy to share a little more info about myself and the work I do.
I firmly and passionately believe that every body is a good body. I believe in the body’s incredible capacity to heal and in the inherent strength of every individual. Life can deal us some significant blows and sometimes our body is the last place we want to be. It can be frightening, shameful, and uncomfortable. I get this from deep personal experience.
Using trauma informed yoga, mindful movement, and art, I help clients address the physical and emotional symptoms of trauma. To befriend your body and to feel safe there is the purpose of Peaceful Embodiment.
If you would like to work with me or have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out. My website www.peacefulembodiment.com also has more information and further contact info.
