Buying a baby carrier secondhand can be a great way to save money and try different styles, but safety and fit matter just as much as the price. In today’s post, I’m walking you through the key things to look for when shopping used: fabric integrity, buckle function, stitching quality, missing parts, and how to assess whether a carrier has been well cared for.

A well-made, safety-tested carrier can last for years, even across multiple babies, as long as it’s been maintained properly. These simple checks can help you feel confident and supported from the start.

If you’re unsure what carrier is right for you, or you’d like a personalized fitting, I offer virtual and in-person babywearing consults. You can book directly at herpathotandwellness.com.

Fall weather is in full swing here in Central California, and that means it’s time for some nourishing soups…

This week inside my perinatal nutrition practice, we’re leaning into a creamy kale, butternut squash, & sausage soup made with a mineral-rich bone broth base — the perfect blend of comfort + function for pregnancy and postpartum.

Why this bowl supports your body:

Kale: Loaded with folate, vitamin K, and antioxidants that support cell development and tissue healing.
Butternut squash: A powerhouse of beta-carotene (vitamin A), fiber, and vitamin C — supporting immunity, gut regularity, and overall recovery.
Bone broth: Provides collagen, glycine, and essential minerals to nourish connective tissue, joints, and the gut barrier.
Sausage: Adds satiating protein and iron — key for energy, stable blood sugar, and preventing iron depletion in pregnancy and postpartum.

If you’re wanting simple, nutrient-dense meals that align with your pregnancy or postpartum needs, I’d love to support you.
Virtual Perinatal nutrition consults are available!
You can book a session anytime at herpathotandwellness.com or through the link in my bio at .wellness.

Your body deserves nourishment that feels grounding, comforting, and doable. Let’s build that together.

✨ Big News in Women’s Health! ✨
The FDA has officially removed the Black Box warning from hormone replacement therapy — and this is a huge step forward for informed, evidence-based care.

For decades, many women were told to fear hormone therapy based on outdated interpretations of research. This has led to undertreatment of menopausal symptoms and unnecessary suffering — especially for those experiencing hot flashes, sleep disruption, pelvic floor discomfort, mood shifts, and long-term bone density changes.

The updated stance reflects what current, high-quality research has shown for years:
➡️ Hormone therapy can be safe, effective, and protective for many women.
➡️ Risks and benefits should be personalized, not generalized.
➡️ Women deserve accurate information and choice.

Let’s celebrate progress — and keep advocating for care that respects our bodies, our experiences, and our autonomy.

If you’re curious how hormone therapy may support pelvic floor health, mood, sleep, or your transition through perimenopause or postpartum — I’m here to help you explore evidence-based options.

Your wellness journey is personal, and you deserve clarity.

In honor of Halloween coming up, I had to jump in on the trend! A haunted house… but it’s filled with pelvic health myths.

From “just do Kegels” to “you’re cleared at six weeks,”
it’s time to stop tiptoeing around the ghosts of outdated advice.

At HerPath OT + Wellness, I help women heal with evidence, compassion, and a little humor —
because pelvic health doesn’t have to be scary.

Which haunted room have you been stuck in?
Save this post for the next time you hear something spooky disguised as “normal.”

Hey mama, if you delivered by C-section, your pelvic floor and core still need recovery. Pregnancy stretches the pelvic floor, and surgery affects how your abs and pelvic floor work together.

Scar tissue can sometimes limit mobility, cause tightness, or even impact bladder and back health. Gentle scar mobilization — once cleared by your provider — can improve comfort and healing.

Healing isn’t just about your incision — it’s about reconnecting your whole body. I’d love to support you in your recovery.
